This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and storage technologies Correct Bible uses, the purposes for which they are used, how long they remain in place, and how users can manage or delete them.
This policy applies to correctbible.org and all of its language directories.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files that a website can store in a user’s browser. Among other things, they can keep a user signed in, protect authentication processes, or remember a preference selected by the user.
The site may also use similar technologies, such as localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, Cache Storage, and service workers. These technologies are not necessarily cookies, but they can also store information or resources on the device.
2. How Correct Bible uses these technologies
Correct Bible does not currently use Google Analytics, Google Ads, advertising pixels, profiling tools, or marketing cookies.
The site uses:
- strictly necessary technical cookies to sign users in, protect their accounts, and provide features they request;
- functional preferences created when a user expressly selects a language or enables a feature;
- local reading storage only when the user enables “Continue Reading”;
- offline storage only when the user expressly requests that content be saved or downloaded for offline use;
- a minimal technical cache for the resources required by the progressive web app, or PWA.

The * symbol indicates that WordPress adds a variable technical identifier to the names of certain cookies.
4. Storage used by the “Continue Reading” feature
The “Continue Reading” feature is disabled by default. Correct Bible does not create a persistent reading history merely because a user browses the site.
After opening a second, different study, the site may display a contextual prompt offering to enable this feature. Only if the user selects “Enable” may the following items be created in the browser’s local storage:

This information is stored only on the device and is not automatically synchronized with the user’s account.
If the user selects “Not Now,” that choice is stored only temporarily in sessionStorage for the current browsing session. No persistent preference is created, and a lack of response is not treated as consent.
5. Offline reading and content
Offline features are disabled by default. IndexedDB and optional page or image caches are not created merely because a user visits a study.
When the user expressly requests that a book, study, or other content be downloaded for offline reading, the site may use:
- IndexedDB, through the local
ib-offline-librarydatabase, to store downloaded content; - Cache Storage, to store pages, images, and resources needed for the requested offline reading;
- local storage to remember the visual status of downloads.
Offline content remains on the device until the user deletes it through “Reading Preferences,” selects “Delete Offline Data and Reading Preferences,” or clears the site’s data through the browser.
6. PWA, service worker, and technical cache
Correct Bible uses a service worker to provide the technical functions of its progressive web app, or PWA.
The service worker maintains only a minimal technical cache of files such as JavaScript, style sheets, icons, and other necessary resources. It does not automatically store the public pages a user visits or the user’s reading history while optional features are disabled.
Private or session-dependent pages—such as My Account, sign-in, registration, password recovery, and other functional routes—are not stored for offline use.
Signing out removes authentication cookies and any remaining local personal account information. Bible content expressly downloaded for offline reading may remain until the user chooses to delete it.
7. External services activated by the user
Google sign-in
The connection to Google does not start automatically. It is established only when the user selects “Continue with Google.”
During that process, Google may set security, session, or account-selection cookies on its own domains. Google manages those cookies under its own terms and policies.
PayPal
Correct Bible does not create PayPal cookies when a user visits the donation page or the thank-you page.
If the user chooses to continue to PayPal, they leave correctbible.org and access PayPal’s website. At that point, PayPal may use its own session, security, language, fraud-prevention, or preference cookies under its own responsibility and in accordance with its policies.
8. No analytics or advertising cookies
Correct Bible does not currently use Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, remarketing, advertising pixels, or other tools designed to measure individual browsing behavior, build profiles, or display personalized advertising.
The site administrator may use Search Console to understand the general performance of pages in Google search results. Search Console does not require Google analytics cookies to be installed in the browsers of Correct Bible visitors.
9. Why the site does not display a general cookie banner
Accessing Correct Bible does not activate analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
Authentication and security cookies are used only when necessary to provide requested features, such as signing in or accessing an account.
The optional “Continue Reading” and offline reading features remain disabled until the user expressly requests them. The relevant information is shown when the feature becomes relevant, without treating browsing, silence, or closing a notice as consent.
For these reasons, the site does not display a general cookie banner upon entry. Users retain control through contextual prompts and the “Reading Preferences” link.
10. How to change preferences or delete data
Users can open the “Reading Preferences” link at the bottom of each page to:
- enable or disable “Continue Reading”;
- enable or disable offline reading;
- delete the local reading history;
- delete downloaded books and content;
- delete offline data and reading preferences.
Disabling “Continue Reading” deletes the related preference, references to the most recently viewed studies, and the associated local cache.
Disabling offline features deletes the IndexedDB library and the optional caches containing downloaded pages and images.
11. Browser controls
Users can also view, block, or delete cookies and site data through their browser settings.
Deleting authentication cookies will sign the user out. Deleting IndexedDB, Cache Storage, or PWA data will erase content saved for offline reading and may require certain resources to be downloaded again.
Available options and menu names vary by browser and device.
12. Changes to this policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated when the site’s features, technologies, or applicable requirements change.
If analytics, advertising, or other technologies requiring prior consent are added in the future, this policy will be updated and an appropriate consent mechanism will be implemented before those technologies are activated.
